Applicant Profile:

This position is responsible for supporting the backbone of growing Japan operations. He or she will have a strategic and entrepreneur mindset for the company and work closely with various functions to move projects, processes, and programs along while complying with internal and external policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Human Resources (80%)

• • Contributes to the business strategy by helping business leaders.
  • Identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes to create the best employee experience.
  • Deliver HR services and build capabilities to drive organizational performance and possess the mindset to increase process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle, employee relations, health and safety, benefits, and compensation.
  • Act as the first point of contact and provide HR support for employees and leaders on people management issues, including employee relations, grievances handling, talent opportunities and challenges, talent engagement, etc.
  • Foster trust and accountability and maintain a partnership with business leaders and employees.
  • Maintains and ensures the quality and accuracy of the HR data sets, reports, and metrics.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand the hiring needs and attract the right talent by identifying, assessing, selecting the talent.
  • Work with Regional HR to implement HR policies and programs, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
  • Identify gaps in existing HR policies and contribute to developing and implementing new/ revised HR policies and processes.
  • Perform monthly payroll delivery, social insurance, and yearly activities with payroll vendors to ensure payroll delivery accuracy and punctuality.

Operations Management (20%)

• • Oversee Japan office management.
  • Coordinate office operations, including point of contact for facilities management to resolve issues and office coordination, especially during pandemic and company events.
  • Other ad-hoc duties.

Expectations & Experience Requirements:

• 5 years of experience working in an HR generalist role in a global company with a deep understanding of Japanese HR practices and experience managing office administration.
• Proven hands-on experience in employee relations matters, with a firm grasp of the Japan employment law.
• Have a track record in HR with broad HR experience across a diverse culture.
• Strong organizational and analyzing skills that reflect prioritizing multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
• Good team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Result-driven and can work under pressure.
• Experience in a start-up or a high-growth project is an advantage!
• Integrity, trust, and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
• Interest in getting involved and making things happen, action-driven, service-oriented, self-managed and collaborative.
• Fluent in Japanese and English with strong communication skills.
• Ability to both think strategically and execute tactically.
