Job Summary: Accounting Manager – FP&A Manager

As Accounting Manager, you’ll oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring meticulous adherence to organizational policies and standards. This pivotal role involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing general ledger activities, and overseeing tax compliance, including corporate and consumption taxes. You’ll serve as a crucial liaison between the company and auditors, ensuring seamless financial reporting and compliance.

Transitioning into the FP&A Manager role, you’ll lead budgeting, forecasting, and analytical processes essential for driving business strategies and achieving financial objectives. Your contributions will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive financial insights to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making, and optimizing P&L performance across divisions. You’ll lead a team of financial analysts, fostering their development and ensuring the delivery of actionable recommendations for enhancing operational efficiencies and profitability.

Key Accountabilities:

· Accounting Manager:

o Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.

o Manage monthly and yearly closing activities, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger maintenance.

o Prepare J-GAAP financial statements and oversee local tax returns.

o Act as a liaison with internal/external auditors and government agencies.

· FP&A Manager:

o Coordinate timely submission of forecast and plan data to corporate management systems.

o Lead monthly performance management cycle, including business forecasting and variance analysis.

o Develop presentations for senior leadership to support strategic reviews and business planning.

o Control P&L for the market and divisions, delivering insightful analysis to drive operational efficiency and profitability.

o Conduct ad-hoc analyses and lead special projects as assigned by senior executives.

Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a strong foundation in accounting processes and financial reporting.

· Expertise in managing fiscal closing activities and familiarity with cost center management.

· Fluent in both Japanese (JLPT-1) and English, with exceptional communication skills and the ability to build influential relationships.

· Strong analytical abilities, with a knack for identifying key business issues and providing strategic recommendations.

· Proficiency in Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentations.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· U.S. CPA certification.

· Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JDE, Oracle).

· Familiarity with HFM (Hyperion Planning / EPM) or similar financial planning tools.
