Company Description:

A leading company in the consumer goods industry is seeking a Finance Controller to join its dynamic team in Tokyo. The company operates in the spirits market and has a global presence.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Finance Controller to be responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, cost analysis, and contract management. The Finance Controller will be the key business partner for the management team, marketing, Chanel Customer Marketing team, and sales team in Japan. This role reports to the Deputy Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare monthly statutory reports for global headquarters.

· Establish and maintain internal control processes to meet global requirements.

· Ensure tax and treasury compliance.

· Manage structured cost budget and control.

· Manage inter-company balances and transactions, fixed assets, and accounting-related matters.

· Liaise effectively with internal and external auditors and tax advisors.

· Support strategic business plans, yearly budgets, and monthly forecasts.

· Provide financial insights to support decision making.

· Analyze balance sheet accounts.

· Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 5+ years of financial reporting experience.

· Experience in handling accounting data.

· Experience in internal audit of a global company.

· Experience in establishing internal control procedures in a global company.

· Experience in making Excel databases.

· Experience in extracting data from SAP.

· Experience in making statutory reports to a parent company outside Japan.

· Experience in the consumer goods industry preferred, prior alcohol experience an advantage.

Required Skills:

· Knowledge of accounting principles, both JP and IFRS.

· Knowledge of internal audit.

· Strong data analysis skills (Strong Excel skill is a must: Vlookup, Pivot, Sumif).

· Deep SAP knowledge.

· Proven analytical thinker.

· Strong communication skills in a multicultural environment.

· Proven ability to work across functions, carry out data analysis, identify trends, and develop commercial options to address commercial issues.

· Proven skills in planning and reporting techniques and methods, including KPIs management.

· Fluency in English preferred, knowledge of other languages is a plus.

· Customer and results-oriented.

· Adaptive/flexible, but firm when required.
