Finance Director Full Time

We’re seeking a dynamic Director of Finance based in Tokyo, Japan, tasked with leading and developing our local Finance team.

Position: Director, Finance

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial close through effective coordination across various company functions.
• Lead and develop the Finance team, implementing backup and succession plans for key roles.
• Provide high-level oversight of accounting operations to uphold best practices and control environments.
• Review financial statements and reconcile accounts to ensure compliance with Accounting Principles.
• Foster strong relationships internally to enhance collaboration and strategic partnership.
• Drive process improvements to streamline financial operations and support business growth initiatives.
• Implement new financial policies and procedures aligned with expanding retail operations.
• Oversee preparation of annual financial statements and statutory documentation.
• Collaborate with international counterparts and external professionals on contract reviews and tax matters.
• Liaise with audit teams, tax accountants, and banks for timely completion of audits, filings, and treasury activities.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Strong technical expertise in accounting standards and practices.
• Comprehensive experience across finance functions including statutory reporting and tax compliance.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and financial modeling.
• Proven analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Minimum 10 plus years of relevant experience, including managerial roles.
